The image of the maypole is exactly the vision invoked as you make your way down the winding country road and turn the corner. You feel like dancing or playing in the welcoming meadow. Sunshine fills the clearings. Shadows sway along the boughs of the forest, sending dappled light across the open spaces. This is a place to be one and commune with nature. Eagles soar overhead and babbling creeks where salmon spawn flow steadily as you wander the trails into the forest. You hear the calls of owls and, at sunset, the coyotes yip to each other.

When Karen and her three daughters first bought the place, she was enthralled with these very visions. She has had the privilege of raising her daughters here and collecting many stories of time together outside with their dogs, Koda and April, playing in the sunshine. Being in this beautiful sanctuary of nature, their eyes light up and smiles spread across their faces. It has been a place of love, laughter, countless cups of tea, sister time spent snuggling, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. All experiences here make a mama’s heart smile so very wide.
As you arrive, you too will feel the love that has been poured into creating such a beautiful, zen space. It is ready for the next owners to create their dreams, dance with the trees, watch buds grow, and simply soak in the sounds of nature.
The girls are now grown and starting their own beautiful lives, allowing Karen to dream about something smaller and with less land to work, so she can visit each of them in their new places.
Dancing around the maypole is what she does in life with her girls, and those of us lucky enough to call her friend and family.
This fall, we will all dance around the maypole as Karen’s oldest daughter, Miss Molly, marries my sweet son, Kendall. What a full-circle moment when I get to become family with four of the most amazing, kind, generous, caring women whom I admire so very much.

Here’s to full circle moments as the next chapters of life create opportunities to dance around the maypole.
